ILinc allows a presenter to host events with up to 1,000 attendees. That is one of the largest number of available seats we found among the webinar services we reviewed. However, while this service allows you to reach a larger audience, it lacks some valuable features and isn't very easy to use. Our research found this service to be merely average.

In order to use this service, you have to install an application. Requiring a download may reduce the number of people who will attend your online seminar. When we tested this service, we found that it is difficult to navigate the application. After some trial and error, we decided to watch the tutorial. It didn't help much – the online tutorial is much like the service itself: it throws a lot of information at you without trying to be user friendly. If you join one of the scheduled live demonstrations, you will feel more informed, however.

Nonetheless, iLinc does have a lot to offer a presenter. When you create a web presentation, it creates a personalized URL that will take you and your invitees to a login page. After a quick registration process, your attendees are ready to go. This webinar provider also keeps track of your past presentations so you can use material from a previously uploaded seminar. You can also charge participants on a pay-per-view basis.

During the web presentation, a participation meter shows you how engaged your users are. If you see the attention of your attendees waning, you can conduct a poll or ask questions to engage them once again. Participants also have the option to virtually raise their hands to get your attention and ask you specific questions. If you need to discuss something one on one, private chat is also supported. The ability to let one of your guests take over as presenter is not supported, however.

This application also provides a Share Region feature, which is unique among the webinar services we reviewed. In addition to the full-screen share mode, you can place a box around a certain portion of your screen and show only that section. You can adjust this box to whatever size you need. This tool can be helpful if you are doing other things during the web-based seminar and don't want to show your entire screen. This screen-sharing feature is particularly important in light of the fact that you can only share files of a few different types during your presentation.

With iLinc, you can promote your event on Facebook, Twitter and other similar sites. This kind of social networking will help you draw larger crowds. Plus, since this webinar provider allows for larger audiences and more seats, you'll want to invite as many people as possible.

The customer support on this site is strong in some aspects but lacking in others. The company offers standard email support, telephone support and a FAQs page. The latest version of the application also includes a helpful avatar that pops up with helpful tips as you begin a session. The iLinc webinar services provider does not have live chat as many of the other web seminar services do. It also does not offer remote IT support during your presentation.

Summary:

Though this service will enable you to reach large groups of people, you may have trouble impressing your audience. The interface is overwhelming and complicated to use when compared to other webinar services. However, after some practice, you may be able to figure out how to use all the tools that are provided. ILinc can be a very useful internet presentation service if used correctly.
